“Before I visited with Mihyun, I had a sense that I needed help – that something was off with my body, with my mind – but I wasn’t sure what the underlying issue was. I was far through a medical journey, and I knew the medical system would not be able to help further. I came to Mihyun with snippets of thoughts about my mind and body, and feeling of being stuck within both. She was able to unearth what I needed from the small clues I could give her. I had never heard of somatic therapy or movement analysis before, but I knew after consulting with her that I could trust Mihuyn’s insight. Mihyun observed a specific movement I naturally did when describing who I want to be, so she guided me through an exploration of this movement, starting small and expanding to greater depths and heights; it unleased huge emotions for me and became the foundation of continued work on myself. She worked with me to untrap myself from the self-imposed limitations on my body… to seek out my suppressed emotions with curiosity and openness… to explore how my inner self can be accessed via movement. Mihyun did this with creativity, kindness, and a deep intuition that is backed by her unique background and training as a therapist and dancer. My work with Mihyun has been profound and has left me greatly empowered to live life as my true self.”

“My partner and I have been taking private lessons from Mihyun starting May 2022 on regular basis until May 2023. It has been a deeply nourishing time for us. Mihyun has such a gift for holding spaces with stillness and clarity, and guiding people gently towards openings and insight. The sessions have brought us many beautiful moments, and have enriched and enlarged the way we experience each other.”

“I took Mihyun Lee’s somatic movement workshop in February 2023. I just saw an advertisement through an adoptee network, so I inquired about it. I came to the class not knowing anything about somatic movement therapy. Mihyun made the class feel very warm and welcoming for me. I was still recovering from knee surgery, so I was unable to be as active or mobile as possible. However, I was able to feel in the moment without distractions. After listening to Mihyun and seeing her demonstrations, I was able to understand a bit about how different motions connect with different parts of the body, especially because my gait has changed after surgery. I guess with more work that I can understand how my body is a mirror of my life. Overall, it was a brief, but great experience. After attending the 3-hour workshop, I have decided to attend the 3-day intensive workshop in July with hopes to deepen my body/life relationship.”

“I first met Mihyun through Integrated Movement Studies, where she is a graduate, and have experienced the impact of her work in my own life. Mihyun’s approach, Kinesiopsychotherapy, opened by eyes and my heart to new understandings of myself and my body. Working with her helped me get in touch with polarities I was struggling in my work and personal life. Her facilitation lead me to experience a clarification and understanding of these poles in a way that I felt more whole and capable of working with each. Working with Mihyun gave me new tools to be with the tensions in my life and move forward in a supported and generative way. What I gained through the experience continues to support me both physically and emotionally as I encounter new challenges and discomforts.”

“I have had the chance to work with Mihyun in the context of the Integrated Movement Studies program as both her mentor and as a participant in her work.  In my observation, she is exquisitely attuned to the center of her own being and from that place, she is able to hold space for others to explore the different facets of their humanity through movement and somatic practice.  She is in deep relationship with the many dynamic parts of the self, and how those emerge and recede over time.  Ultimately Mihyun serves as a tender embodied witness to her clients’ integration toward wholeness.”
